Heroes’ Tribute
World War II ended in 1945, but it wasn’t
until 2004 that a memorial was dedicated
in Washington, D.C. to the 16 million who
served in the armed forces during that
war. Through Operation Greatest Gift, 366
veterans have made the trip from California
to visit the W WII Memorial and, together,
honor the experience that changed
their lives. Read their incredible stories
of bravery, camaraderie, and survival.

Lodge Spotlight While many lodges helped
make Operation Greatest Gift a success, some
California lodges support local war veterans all
year long. Check out the efforts in Anaheim and
Long Beach.
