Acacia Creek, the fraternity’s nonprofit
retirement community located adjacent to the Masonic Home at Union
City, celebrated a successful year.
A HEALTHY COMMUNITY
Acacia Creek was recognized with a “Best
in Senior Living Award,” due to outstanding feedback from families. This exclusive
designation places it in the top 1% of
senior care providers nationwide.
To help meet Acacia Creek’s commitment to providing a healthy, active lifestyle,
it has adopted Masterpiece Living – a
national program of physical and mental wellness – and it has applied to be a
Certified Center for Successful Aging. A
new website ( acaciacreek.org) provides
members of the public with an intimate look into Acacia
Creek’s lifestyle and services.
Acacia Creek leased 24 apartments in the past fiscal
year, reaching 90% occupancy and bringing the number of
Masonic family residents to 111.
Acacia Creek has a number of exciting plans for the new
» In May, Acacia Creek’s annual Walk to Wellness
campaign will encourage resident activity through
a variety of fun events, including walks with local
elementary school students.
» On June 4, the community will host a Mentors’
Luncheon, giving Masonic youth from DeMolay
International an opportunity to connect with
Acacia Creek residents to learn about Masonry, colleges, career options, and more.
» Acacia Creek is developing a Lifelong Learning
Center – providing an opportunity for residents,
staff, family members, and outside educators to
share their knowledge and expertise with one
another through on-campus courses.
» Residents and Acacia Creek Dining Services are
working together to include new healthy menu
options, which will be launched by the community’s chef and a dietician.
» Other exciting plans include a summer song fest,
aloha days, taiko drumming demonstrations, and a
multi-cultural holiday celebration.
